Leather chaps were used in traditional times when bullfights were one of the major entertainment sports. The riders used to wear them for protection against animal skin to prevent burns from friction and bruises. Now in modern times, these chaps are conventionally used my motorbike riders with few modern elements indulged into the fabric to make them look classier. There are various types of leather chaps. Most of them are made from cowhide, sheepskin or wool. The batwing chaps have a smooth feel and used by horse riders. Some of them drape the toes as well as the boot and its heel. Apart from cowboy activities, leather chaps are now increasingly used in fashion for style. They majorly have studded sides or creased effect on the thighs till the ankle. The rear or sides have wacky designs like that of sunburn or blazing fire. There are some which have laces at the rear end as fasteners and straps to support. The adjustable back leather chaps are now in demand as they can be removed easily. They are elastic and glossy. Some of them even have short cuts at the edges or at the surface to make it look trendy and expose the denim underneath. The deep pockets are outlined with stitches and provide a comfortable space to place your hands. The leather chaps having mesh lining at the inside fit well on your thighs and are accompanied with slanted zipper pockets. The flap over zipper at the lining has j- shape pockets which give a regal look. The cargo pocket at the front give a casual look and can be worn in parties with an overgrown leather jacket and medium size heel boots.
