The trends in men’s hair have not changed but there are two styles, which will be making big this spring/summer 2013. Hair trends are very much part of the fashion trends but the pace at which they evolve takes time and then they stay for long. Hair stylists this year have come up with two new hairstyles, which will be ruling the whole year. The first is the slick side parting. However, it was very much there in 2012 also but this time it has got more refined and formal. The other alternative is a longer textured hairstyle, which you could try this season. Let us take a peek-a-boo at both the cuts. However, before taking the plunge let me tell you that this year the products use to style the hair will also make a big difference. This year, there will be too much emphasis on shine and glossy products and we would be bidding good bye to the matte finish clays which were still very much a part of the hair styling. Slick Side Parting: when you choose this style, decide upon how much scalp exposure you want on back and the sides. Whether you want it covered more or want a little more exposure. Remember, if it is clipperd too high, the sharper the finish would be and the looks too. There are two ways to get the slick side parting. You could get the hair clippered into the bottom or get it tapered into the neck. To prevent from getting the hair too heavy from the top, you could ask your stylist to try point cut for the length on top. If you want to experiment a little or add a personal touch, you could even try texturising. It could be done easily with a razor or a pair of scissor. If your pick is the modern edgy style, you could ask for having the parting side cut a little higher. Therefore, you would get exaggerated length in the front creating longer hair looks but it is disconnected from the back and sides. The products, which you could try for better styling this cut depends on the look, you strive for. However, make sure you do not dry your hair completely but just pat dry. This is done to avoid volume so that parting could be done easily. Choose wet pomade if you want to achieve medium shine and a stronger styling gel for stronger shine. More Texture on the top: the only thing what you need to follow in this cut is to go for clean edges i.e. short back and sides. Moreover, for the length and volume on top, decide for yourself, how much and what style you want to opt. For a dramatic look, get the hair clippered from the sides only and leave the length on the top. This way you would get a ‘bed head’ look. If you add a bit of color on the tips in the front, you have added character to your looks. Well as far as using the product goes, a salt spray works the best for long hairstyles. Once you are done with the application, blow-dry the hair till they are completely dry. Then comb your hair the way you want to style it. As now, both the hairstyles for spring/summer are unveiled so it is time to make your decision and join the gang of fashion forward men.
