If the leather jacket is ripped, get a leather repair kit which includes cleaning swabs, patches, adhesive, palette knife, and repair compounds in various colors. There are several steps to repair your ripped leather jacket

1. First thing is to clean the portion with alcohol cleaning swab gently on the ripped leather jacket. Even you can use regular rubbing alcohol to clean the area. You should test it on the small part of the leather jacket while using it because it loses the color and it is totally depended on the strength of color fastness of the leather jacket.
2. The rip then needed to secure with one of the sub-patches that comes in the kit. Insert the sub-patches into the ripped portion of leather jacket and lining.
3. Use the adhesive to secure the sub-patch to the leather, ensuring that you have closed the edges of the rip as far as possible. Then let it dry for some time.
4. Till know you have sealed off the ripped portion of leather jacket but the line of the rip will still be visible on the surface, for this you need to tackle with the exact  color of leather jacket.  Test the color on a small patch of the jacket that is not visible and finally spread the repair compound color over the entire surface smoothly using a palette knife and dry for some time.
5. One coat is not enough than apply twice and let it dry for perfect repairing.
6. If finished than apply the leather conditioner to keep it in actual condition.
