The latest trend in handbags this spring is not only the various sizes and style sin handbags but the way of carrying them has also changed.

This year the spring 2013 New York Fashion Week saw models carrying big oversized bags or even small clutches in a new way i.e. holding them from the bottom. The earlier styles talked about carrying the bag on the shoulder, in the hands or even under the arms but this year it is all new. It is similar to the way we carry the grocery bags from bottom as there are chances that it might get torn if it is not supported well.

All the Hollywood celebrities be it Kate Moss (who was seen gripping her large tote bag from bottom), Victoria Beckham who has her own line of bags was also seen carrying the handbags the same way at various dos. She is always known for carrying large handbags.  During the ongoing fashion week Victoria Beckham was seen holding a large chain bag from the bottom. She wore a double breasted pea coat, black pumps and skinny jeans. The other day she was seen carrying a large bag from her own collection. Again she wore skinny jeans and for the shoes well Christian Louboutin boots were her choice.

Since the start of the fashion week, Hollywood celebrity Olivia Palermo was also seen carrying a clutch bag. That day her pick was a green skirt, a mid length fur coat, black jeggings. She chose to keep the hair simple with mid parting and a statement necklace was what completed the look. The next day again she was carrying the handbag from the bottom. That day a fur vest and a rust colored maxi skirt was her pick.

The Noon by Noor show at the Lincoln center also saw celebrities rocking the same trend – carrying the handbag from the bottom. Selita Banks was seen holding her Chanel bag from the bottom. A geometric patterned umbrella skirt, pumps, and asymmetric leather jackets was her pick.

So we see that the natural and the popular way of holding the handbag are out and it has paved the way for a new style – carrying the handbag from the bottom. So whenever you step out this spring do carry your handbag the same way. And there are no rules about the size. You could own a small clutch bag, a tote bag or a handbag.
